Service Description
Join North Downs Way Ambassador Michael Vergien on a 14 mile, 7 hour walk that will take us up to what we believe to be the best, most inspiring section of the North Downs Way! We will walk past some of the NDW's most iconic viewpoints: Church of St. Martha-on-the-Hill, Newlands Corner, and Denbies Wine Estate. Start: Meet us at the Guildford train station carpark at 9:00. Please arrive early to ensure a prompt start. Finish: You will be back at the carpark around 16:30. Walk Level: This is a moderate-to-difficult walk as there will be steep climbs and descents on our walk. Equipment: You will need sturdy footwear and a water bottle. Some parts of the walk can get muddy and slick depending on weather. Bring a packed lunch and a blanket for a picnic lunch. Dogs: Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. Children: 14 miles makes this walk unsuitable for young children. Participants must be 14 and older. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Travel: Travel to the Guildford station is easy from London, Dorking, and many other Surrey towns. Please contact us if you are running late. However, we are not obligated to hold up the whole group. We will end at the Dorking Main/Deepdene stations for easy travel back. Tickets: You must book tickets for this walk. We may have to turn you away if you show up without a booking through the Hikes of Surrey website (not Facebook). COVID Information: Hikes of Surrey is not responsible for your health. We require participants to act responsibly and maintain social distancing with others not in your household. You will be required to use hand sanitiser at the beginning and end of the walk. Face coverings are optional. In the unlikely event that you contract Coronavirus from any of our walks, we cannot be held liable. By booking this walk you are agreeing to these term and conditions. If after booking you develop a high temperature; a new, continuous cough; loss or change to my sense of smell or taste, you will contact us by email immediately.
